    This treatise synthesizes Carré's earlier work on civil procedure. It is one of the most important 19th-century works on procedure, which F. Laferrière ranks among the foremost "Glories of the Country" (History of French Law, Vol. 2, p. 403). Carré was a professor at Rennes and a colleague of Toullier at this faculty, which produced many of the most eminent legal scholars of the 19th century. This rare edition, in three large quarto volumes, is presented in perfect condition in a richly decorated binding.
