    A brief preamble introduces this work as follows: “Part 1 contains the rules governing the different classes of commercial brokers and the solutions to numerous questions concerning the scope of their rights and duties, along with judicial decisions and the opinions of legal scholars. It is a kind of summary of the legislation, legal doctrine, and case law concerning their responsibilities and their relationships with the authorities, other public officials, and merchants, as well as the obligations imposed upon them.” It further specifies, “The judicial decisions, reported verbatim or carefully analyzed, are followed by the necessary information to locate them in the Journal du Palais and the Dalloz General Jurisprudence. Part 2 contains all the provisions of the legislation from 1312 to [the 1853 edition] relating to the profession of commercial broker.”
