small octavo, full fawn calfskin, gilt titles and volumes on red and yellow morocco paper, smooth spine decorated with gilt lace and stylized floral motifs, cold tooling on the edges, (covers slightly rubbed with small abrasions, edges and corners slightly worn with small losses, scratch at the bottom of the spine), fresh interior, [6 leaves]-315 pages.
If the publisher's intention was to transpose the work done for the Civil Code (Civil Code Conference, Paris, F. Didot, Year XII) to the Code of Civil Procedure, the result is ultimately a far more valuable tool for both civil and procedural lawyers: indeed, the text of the relevant articles of the Civil Code, essential for understanding the articles of the Code of Civil Procedure upon which they are based, is included at the bottom of each page. It is precisely this work of linking the articles of the Civil Code and the Code of Procedure that Favard de Langlade undertook. A second advantage lies in the references to the pages of speeches where the discussion of each article is found. Finally, the inclusion of a substantial and highly useful analytical table of contents, and especially of the speeches of the orators of the Council of State and the Tribunate on each part of the Code of Procedure, is also noteworthy.
