LAWS: STATUTES AND ORDINANCES OF THE KINGDOM OF FRANCE concerning the administration of justice, by King Charles VII
Date :
    1518
octavo, brown calf, spine with 4 raised bands, red title label, (significant paper losses on the first and last pages, some damp stains, loss of leather on the title label).
This exceptional collection of the Ordinances of Charles VII and Francis I is of major importance in the history of French law due to its date, predating both Dumoulin's compilation and the "Code Henri III" published by Brisson at the end of the 16th century. Furthermore, since the subject matter concerning procedure was among the earliest established in the history of French law, the work remains, to a large extent, perfectly intelligible even today. The second part of the work brings together all of Francis I's ordinances relating to civil and criminal procedure.
