in-4, brown calfskin, spine with raised bands decorated, gilt title on garnet paper, red edges, headband, initials, vignettes, (boards rubbed and scuffed, joints very slightly split, losses to edges and corners, dampstaining and worm damage to the top margin on about a third of the pages without consequence on the text, foxing), 4 f.-686 p.-3 f.
The rulings of La Roche-Flavin are less well-known than his major work, "The Thirteen Parliaments of France," and are quite rare. This is because they were published at the very beginning of the 17th century (first edition in 1617) and were only reprinted 70 years later in the edition we are presenting, which itself remains quite rare (it is missing from the BNF). It should also be noted that the annotator of these rulings was F. Graverol, a lawyer in Nîmes, who deliberately gave an anecdotal tone to the observations he added to the collection of rulings, so that it was probably intended to be seen, in a way, as a work of popularization. But this is precisely what is likely to interest us today: the substantial passages on debauchery and on "regulations in times of plague." It should be noted that the work is complemented by the treatise on feudal rights by the same author, which is very difficult to find separately.
