Pinsson was one of the most ardent Gallicans (he wrote notably on the Affair of the Regalia and published the last edition of Dumoulin's works, including his texts with a canonical focus). Here, he provides the reference text on the Pragmatic Sanction of Charles VII at Bourges, which unilaterally opposed the rights of the King to those of the Pope. Although theoretically abolished in 1461, this royal decree served as the doctrinal basis for Louis XIV's Gallican work. This text should not be confused with the one we presented in cat. 16-072, which is considerably shorter. This document contains all the subsequent supporting documents (edicts, ordinances, decrees, etc.) annotated by the author.
